I miss when you'd kiss me, and didn't bite down on my tongue to see how far through it you could tear. When you told me you loved me, I didn't suspect that you meant "as an entree". I asked to be the woman of your dreams, your heart's desire, not the prized meal in your mind's restaurant.
Did you tell me you had this sick flaw when I poured out my heart, only for you to ask my permission to boil it up and serve it to yourself on a silver platter? Did your eyes grasp my attention so that I'd step into the grinder that lies between us?

Her CatalystAs she walks through the maelstrom, the words trace upon the tips of her fingers and press into the stone. Every brick, every crack in the concrete, every crossed and angular stroke in reds and blacks and oranges. The drips of the gasoline pool around the base of her boots, slosh as she steps over the burst pipes and the rubble.
